We headed South to explore Tamil Nadu. We went to Tiruchirapalli and Thanjavur. The temples Srirangam and Brihadishwara were amazing. We definitely were off the beaten path - not too many Westerners were in this area.
My bag was stolen from under my nose while I was sleeping on the train, but luckily we were able to find it strewn all over another cabin a few trains down. Guess they weren't too interested in my dirty laundry and India guide book... lesson learned. Lock your bag, even if it is just full of dirty laundry.
We're about to catch a night bus to Hampi and then we are heading on to Mulki.
