More of the Angkor

Angkor means city. Angkor Wat means city temple and it is definitely the temple within the complex that gets most of the attention.

There are SO many other temples that one would need weeks to see them all. We spent a few days checking out some of the other wats and were amazed by the variety of styles we saw.













Angkor Thom is known for its many faces.




Ta Prohm is known for its overgrown trees and super green moss (and for providing the backdrop in certain "Tomb Raider" scenes.)









Some of the temples were a lot less touristy than others. We were able to go to to Banteay Srei at sunrise one day and had the whole place to ourselves - quite a contrast to the sunrise at Angkor Wat!




We traveled throughout Siem Reap and Angkor Wat in style with our little rickshaw cart behind the motorbike.
