SCUBA Diving at Koh Phi Phi

Another great day of diving in Thailand.

A funky blue starfish, some odd looking spotted fish and a few pretty big schools of fish, including this dense group of lil yellow guys.

We did two dives - arrows pointing to the two dive sites just South of Koh Phi Phi, with a circle around the isthmus where we were staying.

After the 1st dive at Bida Nok, the boat pulled into a cove for lunch... the very touristy cove of Maya Bay, where the Leonardo DiCaprio movie "The Beach" was filmed. This pic is kind of far away and hard to tell, but the the beach was COVERED in boats - looked like 4th of July at Lake Havasu or something. Glad we got to stay on our boat and we didn't have to fight the crowds on the sand. It is sad that a movie filming 10 years ago can drive the crowds to one beach while other nearby beaches are virtually empty and untouched. Ahhhh.... the power of Hollywood.

The highlight of our 2nd dive at Malong was the turtles. Yep, plural. We saw two. One turtle struck this tough guy pose as I was snapping pics.

And I even caught a little video of them:
